Gleam is great! But it can be expensive, and there may be some up-to-date features that are missing. Compare features, pricing, and entry methods side by side to find the best sweepstakes platform for your business.

Platform overview

Two platforms, different approaches. Here's how they stack up.

Tokei

Tokei

Tokei is an agent-native alternative to Gleam for running sweepstakes, giveaways, and viral promotions. It helps creators, startups, and brands collect emails, grow social followings, and build hype from a single promotion page, with 30+ verified social entry methods, built-in gamification, and a spin-to-win prize wheel. Unlike traditional giveaway platforms, Tokei ships a CLI and an MCP server, so AI agents can create, manage, and analyse campaigns programmatically.

What sets Tokei apart is its all-in-one pricing and gamification engine. Leaderboards, XP systems, daily bonuses, and referral tracking turn one-time entrants into repeat visitors. It integrates natively with Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Brevo, Make.com, n8n, and Zapier, and offers a full developer API with OpenAPI 3.0 spec. The AI agents, CLI, and MCP server wrap that API for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, and any other MCP client.

VS
Gleam

Gleam is an established competition and rewards platform that bundles four apps — Competitions, Rewards, Captures, and Galleries — into tiered packages. Built for marketers and agencies running campaigns at scale, it offers widget embeds, hosted landing pages, and integration with 40+ email and CRM providers.

Gleam's strength lies in its breadth: instant-win rewards, social media galleries, pop-up capture forms, and a deep set of action types across 25+ social platforms. It supports 25 built-in languages, Shopify integration, event mode for in-person activations, and tools like an Instagram Comment Picker and Random Name Picker for choosing winners. Custom CSS and white-label options are available on higher-tier plans.

AI agents and CLI: where Tokei is different

Every other row in those tables is a feature you click. This one you type.

Tokei runs programmatically through its REST API, a command-line tool, and an MCP server. The tokei-agent package wraps the v1 API as both a CLI and an MCP server over stdio, exposing 21 operations as tools that Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, and any other MCP client discover automatically.

So an AI coding agent can create and manage promotions, edit copy and dates, upload media, pull analytics, inspect leaderboards, and wire up webhooks — without you opening the dashboard. API keys are read-only by default, and writes stay behind human-in-the-loop approval. Gleam offers an API, but no CLI and no MCP server.
