What it does
Add your GA4 Measurement ID to your Tokei account and the gtag.js tracking code loads on every public promotion page — contests, landing pages, sweepstakes, all routes. Pageviews, events, and user behavior are reported into your GA4 property.
No tag manager. No custom code. One ID, universal coverage.

Most marketers live in Google Analytics. It's where they check traffic, compare channels, and make budget decisions. A giveaway that doesn't report into GA4 is a blind spot — you can't compare its performance to your other campaigns.
With GA4 tracking enabled, your giveaway pages appear in the same reports as your blog, your product pages, and your landing pages. Same acquisition reports. Same engagement metrics. Same audience segments.
Traffic sources
See which channels — social, email, ads, organic — drive giveaway visitors.
Engagement
Measure time on page, scroll depth, and bounce rate for your promotions.
Conversions
Track giveaway entries as conversion events alongside your other goals.
How it works
One field: your GA4 Measurement ID (starts with G-). Find it in GA4 Admin → Data Streams → your web stream.
Setup in 60 seconds
- 1Open GA4 → Admin → Data Streams → your web stream.
- 2Copy the Measurement ID (looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX).
- 3In Tokei: Account Settings → Tracking → paste your GA4 Measurement ID.
- 4Save. Analytics data starts flowing into your GA4 property.
Full technical details in the Google Analytics setup docs.
What you can measure
Everything GA4 reports for any web page, you get for your giveaway pages:
- Which traffic sources drive the most giveaway visitors
- How users behave once they land on your promotion page
- Which UTM campaigns have the highest engagement
- Geographic and demographic data about your giveaway audience
- Device and browser breakdown for mobile optimization
Use UTM parameters
When sharing your giveaway link on social media or in ads, add UTM parameters. GA4 will attribute traffic correctly and you'll see exactly which posts and campaigns are driving entries.
Common questions
Will giveaway data mix with my website data?
It depends on your setup. You can use the same Measurement ID as your website (data appears together) or create a separate data stream (keeps it isolated). Both work.
Do I need Google Tag Manager?
No. Tokei loads the gtag.js script directly using your Measurement ID. No GTM container needed.
Can I track entries as conversions?
The integration tracks pageviews by default. For conversion tracking on entry submission, see the full setup docs for custom event configuration.
Is this GA4 or Universal Analytics?
GA4 only. Universal Analytics stopped processing data in July 2023. If your Measurement ID starts with G-, you're on GA4.
