Automatically add contest entrants as subscribers to a Kit form, triggering its confirmation email and any connected sequences.
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is ideal for creators running newsletters, courses, and sequence-driven follow-up.
Add your Kit API key in the Tokei promotion editor.
Every new contest entrant is automatically added to your selected list or audience.
Send targeted follow-up campaigns to your freshly synced subscribers.
Before connecting, prepare:
Kit -> Settings -> Developer -> API Keys. Copy the v4 API key (not the older v3 API secret).
Kit -> Grow -> Landing Pages & Forms. Choose or create the form entrants should be added to.
Connect Kit in six steps:
Validate syncing end-to-end:
Tokei maps entrant details onto Kit's subscriber fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| email_address | Entrant email (Kit's required field) |
| first_name | Entrant first name, native Kit field |
| fields.last_name | Entrant last name — Kit has no native last name, so this is a custom field |
| state | Set to active on creation |
If last names are not appearing, add a custom field named last_name in Kit -> Subscribers -> Custom Fields.
Confirm you pasted a v4 API key from Settings -> Developer. A v3 API secret will not authenticate.
Archived forms are hidden. Ensure the form exists and is not archived in Kit.
Check the form's own confirmation and incentive settings in Kit — Tokei triggers them, it does not send them.
Kit allows 120 requests per minute. Retry after a delay and avoid rapid reconnect attempts.
Follow the step-by-step guide to set up your Kit integration in minutes.
